MSc or PhD Dissertation Template (Originally for the University of Malta) A modern dissertation (or thesis) LaTeX template. Originally used during my D.Phil. at the University of Oxford.
This is the latex template for my PhD thesis. I commented the latex prologue and tried to keep it as simple as possible, so it can be easily understood and extended. The template holds dummy text with examples for creating tables, figures, index and glossary. The template can be downloaded here.
Thesis title PhD titles need to be comprehensible and enticing to a potential reader, while at the same time not being so general and vague as to obscure what the PhD thesis is about. Furthermore, titles should be concise and informative. Abbreviations and formulae should be avoided where possible. DTU recommends PhD students to include a few keywords in the title to aid web-searches.
The package provides a LaTeX document class for writing a PhD thesis. The author developed it while writing his PhD thesis in School of Computing (SoC), National University of Singapore (NUS). By default, the class adheres to the NUS Guidelines on Format of Research Thesis Submitted For Examination. However, the class for conformation to a different guideline should not be difficult.
There is a LaTeX thesis template that you can use to write your own academic thesis with. The template provides a framework for organising and writing your work and a lot of subtle formatting at the finest level of detail that will produce the most beautiful looking thesis.
